Counselling
What if you could be kinder to yourself? What if you could experience less anxiety and low mood? What if you could be supported in healing from trauma and in letting go of shame? What if you could become more assertive and set healthy boundaries?
Perhaps you don’t know what’s wrong but you’re feeling unsettled, sad, anxious, confused, or stressed. You might have put on a happy mask for too long and you’re exhausted. I invite you to imagine how things could be different and, with this hope - no matter how small the hope might be-, I invite you to get in touch with me.
What I can support you with:
anxiety, fear
attachment wounds
life transitions and changes
existential questions, finding meaning and purpose
self-discovery, who you are, what you want, your values and needs
gender identity, gender expression
sexual orientation, sexual preferences
dating, relationship difficulties
guilt and shame
low mood, mild depression, loneliness
past traumas and sexual violence
boundary-setting, assertiveness, finding your voice, communication
self-esteem and self-worth
self-compassion
stress, burnout, vicarious trauma
emotional regulation skills, coping skills, grounding skills
etc.
What I cannot support you with:
severe eating disorders, severe mental illnesses including psychotic disorders, OCD and phobias, adoption-related queries. If those issues are the main focus of therapy, I won’t be the best match for you. If those issues come up but are not what you mainly need support with, this is fine. If you have any doubts, please contact me to discuss this more.
It can be overwhelming to choose a counsellor. I respect the courage it takes to seek counselling and be vulnerable. I aim to create a warm, trusting, and compassionate space where you can feel safe to be yourself and talk openly. I won’t tell you what to do but I will help you explore what is getting in the way of your wellbeing and growth.
I believe in the importance of developing self-compassion and of working with the whole you. I will ask you compassionate questions so that we can explore your thoughts, your beliefs about yourself and others, your emotions, your strengths and values, your behaviours, and the sensations in your body.
We will go at your own pace and you will decide what you want to work on. Each session lasts up to 50 minutes. During the first session, we will go over the confidentiality agreement and it will be a space for you to ask questions and decide if I'm the right counsellor for you.
Integrative, pluralistic counselling.
Trauma-informed. Compassionate.
Affirmative approach. LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse inclusive.
I use different approaches (CBT, person-centred, psychosexual and relationship therapy, trauma-focused, somatic, integrative, ecotherapy, etc.) to suit your unique needs.
The best way to know if we’re a good match is to contact me for a first session. I offer a full 50 minutes session so that we have plenty of time to get to know each other and see if we could work well together. The first session is at the reduced rate of £25.
